Thanksgiving & Unemployed

So today is Thanksgiving, and it totally doesn't feel like it... at all. I'm in Hemet, CA; staying with my girlfriends family and her. I've lived on the East coast my entire life (when I was living in the US). I'm used to cold outside, warm and toasty inside Thanksgivings. In Hemet, its 2 degrees away from fuckin' hot outside. Hopefully I will be able to make it back to Virginia for Christmas, hopefully.

So I'm still unemployed... I hate looking for a job, its the most discouraging thing I know. What I really want to do is be an actor/writer. I just have NO clue how to get into that. I mean, writing is writing, so I just write what I want, and my ideas for screenplays. But acting, I called about 5 agencies (which probably isn't enough), and they all go by referrals.

I saw Fred Claus with Maggie this past weekend, and although I kind of liked it, it was boring as shit. A few laughs here and there, but watching Vince Vaughn do the same shit in every movie gets old, quick. You know what I'm talking about, his signature "ramble on about something until he somehow changes the subject and confuses the person in which hes trying to lecture". Paul Giamatti is one of my favorite actors, and was great as Santa, likewise for Kevin Spacey. Probably the biggest letdown for Fred Claus was the CG (computer graphics). The CG on the elves were nothing less than terrible. I'm not sure what the budget was, but it all looked very lazy. After watching the movie though, I think the only real good parts in the movie were the panning shots of Eliebeth Banks from her legs up in an elf suit. I'm a little disappointed in Director David Dobkin, who brought us Wedding Crashers. Maybe his next flick The Flash, will make up for this disaster.
